Paleobiology Lab

Lab resources

The Paleobiology Lab at UAlbany has several resources available to students and visiting researchers. These include a large collection of extant primate skeletal material and casts of fossil primates from around the world. The fossil primate collection is rich in catarrhines from countries like China, Ethiopia, Greece, Kenya, Pakistan, Spain, South Africa, Tanzania, and Turkey. Other research tools include an EinScan HD full-color 3D scanner and small- (e.g., Prusa i3 MK3S+) and large- (e.g., MODIX Big-60) format 3D printers, in addition to traditional osteometric equipment.

Interested in joining us?

Prospective undergraduate researchers, graduate students, and postdocs should reach out to me (jrowan@albany.edu) to discuss opportunities. I will be accepting MA and PhD students through the Department of Anthropology at UAlbany.
